Vinyl Floor Polishing

Vinyl floor cleaning, restoring & polishing services

Vinyl Floor Polishing

Without polishing, vinyl floors can appear dull and matted and become progressively susceptible to dirt, stain and damage. Vinyl polishing allows the floor surface to shine and protects your valuable assets against wear and tear and stains.

Star Flooring Concepts uses the following method to restore your vinyl floors.

Our Process

We conduct a condition report to check for defects in the base substrate flooring materials as well as existing sealer & polish. This allows us to determine if repair works are recommended and outcome you can expect.

Over time all floor polishes will have components that penetrate the topcoats. If wear and tear is not in the deeper layers then cutting the top 2 coats away is a cost effective method of preparing vinyl floors. If the damage is in the deeper layers, then a full chemical stripping process will be required. We use non-toxic finishing agents so there is no harm to humans or pets.

Rinsing & Burnishing prevents chemicals or dirt from being trapped under the new floor polish. High speed burnishing enhances the floor base and provides a brighter and deeper gloss to your floors. Our high quality finish also includes detailing of edges, corners and doorways.

Between 2 & 5 coats of sealer or polish are then applied to complete the process, allowing around 30 minutes drying time per coat.

Floors are generally okay to walk on 1 hour after the final coat however Star Flooring recommends waiting at least 12 hours before placing heavy furniture directly on the new polish.
